The Nun's Tale - Ruth Catlow travelled to the shrine & chapel of Julian of Norwich, an anchoress and mystic. Ruth's journey was to site a large portable sculpture called 'The Cloud of Unknowing' and end a chapter in her life also symbolized by her leaving her job and studio at the Nunnery in London.
In her pre-recorded prologue Ruth explains from the Nunnery Gardens how she had been 'shown' what 'The Cloud of Unknowing' would look like during a hynotherapy session she underwent before her driving test.
On the day of her pilgrimage Ruth travelled with a friend to Norwich
and hung the sculpture in a huge horse chesnut tree. At the end of her live tale she
described how beautiful it looked and later when she returned to the market she bought
back footage of it hanging in the small garden where she left it.
