The Counsellor's Tale

Barbara's pilgrimage took her to Southampton Docks to view the building progress of a tall ship she had spent some time working on with the Jubilee Sailing Trust.

Her first involvement with the Trust had been when she had volunteered (aged 68) to crew a tall ship on a 3 week trip - an experience that turned out to be the most cathartic of her life, where she experienced and overcame "debilitating fear" for the first time.

Her funny and reflective log from this trip became the first part of Barbara's Tale, which was illustrated by the many momentoes Barbara brought us of her maritime experiences.

Her Prologue is a moving account of how her experiences on the tall ships profoundly affected her attitude to her life as she approaches the end of her working life.
