Just sitting at the airport watching lightning and waiting to depart leaving Karen to man our screening at the festival this eve. We have no idea what kind of audience to expect ... Or if news will have reached the Zlin Bata old hands. We've done our best to visit all our contacts and leaflet the festival crowd but the Czechs are certainly a different beast to a Texan crowd ... They might know who Tomas Bata is but we certainly can't tell what they make of us.

It's 22:31. I've seen the film 20 minutes ago. I'm a young student(22) from Zlin(surprisingly at Tomas Bata University). I'have enjoyed every moment of the film. There should have been some discussion afterwards but I left although I'm full of emotions. Let's say I'm a guite shy guy. But I want to thank you, Karen Guthrie & Nina Pope, for making this projekt real. I was wondering many times about going in somewhere abroad where "Batas" vilages were built up.
This film was like making my dream come true in more sophisticated way. You've mixed enough of historic facts, art, people and places together at the right proportions. The result pleased my heart and my soul.
Thank you once again and the last thing I want to say: Karen managed the film presentation very professionally! Unfortunatelly her interpreter was a kind of jaded which made him very comic :-)
Good luck to you !
